The Scroll of Returns & Redemptions

At The Griffin and Stag, we take great pride in the craftsmanship of our handmade wares. We understand that sometimes a treasure may not fit your Great Hall as expected. Below you will find the laws of our guild regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds.

🛡️ Standard Wares (Non-Custom)

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase of a standard, non-personalized item, you have 14 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return.

  • Condition: Items must be returned in their original, unused condition.

  • Carriage: The cost of return shipping (carriage) is the responsibility of the buyer. We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot grant a refund for items lost in transit back to our studio.

  • Restocking: Once the item is received and inspected, your refund will be processed to your original method of payment within 5–7 business days.

⚔️ Bespoke & Personalized Commissions

Items that have been custom-engraved, specially sized, or created as a unique commission are Final Sale.

  • The Rule: Because these items are crafted specifically for your lineage, they cannot be returned or exchanged.

  • Our Guarantee: If the error was ours—such as a misspelling that differs from your provided notes or a defect in the wood itself—we will forge a replacement or issue a full refund immediately. Please contact us within 7 days of receipt with a photo of the error.

📦 Damaged in Transit

Should your package be waylaid by rogues or damaged by the elements during its journey, please contact us immediately.

  • Please provide photos of the damaged packaging and the item itself.

  • We will work with the postal guild to file a claim and ensure a replacement is sent to you as quickly as possible.

⏳ Cancellations

We begin preparing the wood and setting the laser shortly after an order is placed.

  • Standard Items: Cancellations are accepted within 24 hours of purchase.

  • Bespoke Items: Cancellations must be made within 12 hours, as custom materials are often prepared specifically for your order.

 


 

How to Initiate a Return

To begin the process, please send a message via our Contact Page or email us directly with your Order Number and the reason for your request. We will provide you with the address of our San Jose studio for the return shipment.
