The Litany of the Lens: Renaissance Tome Earrings
Carry the weight of ancient wisdom without the burden of the shelf. Elegantly earrings inspired by the heraldic woodcuts of a 16th-century German deck.
The Tale
In the 16th century, the image of the book was a powerful symbol of the "Renaissance Man or Woman"—a sign of a life dedicated to art, science, and the humanities. These earrings are adapted from a rare set of German playing cards, where the book was used as a suit of noble standing. We have preserved the bold, graphic linework of the original woodcuts, allowing you to wear a piece of secular history that celebrates the timeless beauty of the printed word.
The Craft
Despite their commanding size, these earrings are designed for effortless, all-day wear.
The Material: Precision-etched from ultra-lightweight 1/16" Birch Plywood. They possess the tactile warmth of real wood while being light enough to catch the breeze.
The Detail: The laser captures the "hatched" shadows and bound leather textures of the original 1500s illustrations.
The Hardware: Fitted with hypoallergenic fishhook wires and secure silicone backers—safe for even the most sensitive scholars.
Dimensions: Approximately 2" long by 1" wide—a striking, vertical silhouette that mirrors the shape of a classic folio.
For the Modern Muse
The Academic Statement: A perfect accessory for gallery openings, book launches, or graduation ceremonies.
The "Bookish" Aesthetic: Pairs beautifully with linen, wool, and the earthy tones of a Dark Academia wardrobe.
The Artisan Gift: An ideal token for the writer, librarian, or historian who prefers their jewelry to have a story to tell.
